The Australian Government’s Green Loans Program is providing free home sustainability assessments and interest-free Green Loans for recommended improvements.The assessments (valued at over $250) recommend tailored energy and water savings options. These may range from simple actions like switching to energy efficient lights and replacing shower heads, to larger scale changes such as installing water or energy saving products like rainwater tanks or solar panels. The assessment is the first step in qualifying for an interest-free Green Loan of up to $10,000 to make these recommended larger scale improvements.
Through Green Loans, the Government is creating greener homes—ultimately helping around 360,000 Australian households save energy and water and look after the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It is also kick-starting more growth in green jobs by generating work for around 1000 home sustainability assessors and encouraging an estimated $400 million green-inspired boost for the economy.
The Assessments are undertaken by certifed professionals, there is no charges of any kind, infact the Federal government will give you a free Tailored Assessment and a $50 Gift Voucher Just for undertaking the assessment.
If you have a assessment done you are not obligated at all to take a green loan, Its totally up to you. You will still Recieve a Tailored report, Which will help guide you and your home to be more green, and educate you in the process.
